Avenue of the Core Founders

The Avenue of the Core Founders was a large plaza situated directly in front of the Senate Building on Coruscant. It was lined on either side by spindly, thirty-meter-tall statues, each dedicated to a founder of one of the Core Worlds. One entered the Senate Building from the Avenue via the Great Door.
Seeing as the monuments were all humanoid in appearance, many Senators from the alien-dominated Mid and Outer Rims found them to be distateful and narrow-minded, if not speciesist. Senator Palpatine himself publicly stated that diversity should be incorporated into the Avenue's statuary; however, even after being elected Supreme Chancellor, he apparently failed to implement his idea.
