The avka was a large avian predator native to the planet Durace in the Unknown Regions.
Biology and appearance[]
Their young matured in two-meter-tall rock-like eggs that shattered into shrapnel when the hatchling inside broke out. The new hatchlings were born blind and extremely hungry, and could detect prey through tremors in the surface. Adult avka were extremely strong and tough, with long claws that could cause considerable damage to airspeeders and starships.
