Axton Tredway was a male Human Jedi Knight who served the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic during the final years of both institutions. A survivor of the rise of the Galactic Empire and the beginning of the Great Jedi Purge, Tredway was eventually killed by Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader.

BiographyEdit

A Force-sensitive of the wealthy Tredway family, Axton Tredway was given to the Jedi Order for training at their Coruscant-based academy. Living at the Jedi Temple as he discovered the ways of the Force, Tredway would study for years as a Padawan until eventually he passed his Trials of Knighthood and ascended to the rank of Jedi Knight. While a dutiful Jedi, Tredway violated the Jedi High Council's ban on attachments and fostered a family which resided in secret at his family's estate on the asteroid 24 Tredway in the Sil'Lume Asteroid Belt. His marriage a closely guarded secret, he fathered two children named Dena and Erling. While not on assignment for the High Council, Tredway returned to his home and aided his wife in the family's mining business.^[1]

Reporting to Coruscant at the start of the Clone Wars, a galactic-scale conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Tredway became well acquainted with fellow Knight Anakin Skywalker after taking up the rank of General within the Grand Army of the Republic. Trusting the young Jedi with his secret, Tredway introduced Skywalker to his family during the war. Saddened by the state of the Republic and the horrors of war, Tredway returned home hollow and saddened. When Supreme Chancellor Palpatine was revealed to the Order to be the mysterious Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, Tredway avoided the initial destruction of the Jedi Order by hiding within his estate away from the soldiers of the Grand Army. However, Tredway had made a costly error by showing Skywalker where his secret abode was, for Jedi Skywalker fell to the dark side of the Force and became known as Darth Vader, Darth Sidious' most powerful Jedi hunter. Not long after the rise of the Galactic Empire, Darth Vader appeared in orbit over the asteroid, storming the estate and confronting Tredway. After a brief lightsaber duel, Vader executed Tredway and abandoned the estate.^[1]

LegacyEdit

Gravely shaken by their patriarch's death, the Tredway family carried on, with his wife supporting the children until they were old enough to join the Alliance to Restore the Republic and fight against the Empire in their own way. However, the two earned Imperial Governor Sebastian Parnell's anger, and in his attempt to hunt down Erling Tredway, destroyed 24 Tredway Asteroid, killing Tredway's wife and injuring Dena.^[1]
