Aylayl was a verdant planet^[3] that was located within the Aylayl system of the galaxy's Hutt Space region^[1] and lay on the hyperlane called the Hollastin Run, which connected it to the worlds of Hollastin and Tsyk.^[2] The surface of Aylayl was covered in deep forests and spiky mountains, and the planet was mined by beings enslaved by members of the Hutt species.^[3] The territory surrounding Aylayl was considered well-explored by the year 8,000 BBY^[5] and was under the control of the Hutts as early as 3,996 BBY.^[6] The local population average of the region of space containing Aylayl around the year 25 ABY ranged from 10 million to 500 million.^[4]
