Ayy Vida was a Twi'lek dancer and assassin[4] who frequented Coruscant's Outlander Club.[2]

History[]

Ayy Vida - SW Miniatures

Dancer Ayy Vida

Vida used her alluring dancing to get close to her marks.[4] She was often accompanied by her friend, the purple-skinned Lunae Minx.[5] She was the unwilling consort of the petty criminal Hat Lo, and would have fled from him if not for her fear of his Weequay bodyguard, Tas Kee.[3]

One night in 22 BBY, she caught the eye of Achk Med-Beq, a young Republic officer. She may have believed that he would take her away from the lifestyle, but in truth he was nothing more than a con artist. Ayy was already treading dangerous territory as she was already flirting with Achk's partner in crime Dannl Faytonni.[5] Fortunately for her, an unrelated incident—Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker pursuing Zam Wesell in the same bar—broke the tension at the right moment.[2]

Vida's appearance was unusual among Twi'leks because her yellow skin featured a mottled pattern of red-orange stripes, as opposed to the typical uniformly colored skin of her species.[3]

Ayy Vida was played by Karina Wakefield in the 2002 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[7] The Outlander Club scenes including Vida were shot at Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia on July 17, 2000.[8] Wakefield's costume was airbrushed all over for her part as Vida.[6]

Most sources have portrayed Vida only as a frequent visitor to clubs on Coruscant and the consort of the criminal Hat Lo. The Bounty Hunters set from the Star Wars Miniatures game revealed that she was also a dancer and a secret assassin.
