|Bacta processing implant|
|Usage and history|
- "It's too bad only commandos get Bacta processing implants, I could use all the help I can get."
- ―RC-1138 on seeing some deceased and severely injured clone troopers
A bacta processing implant was a cybernetic implant given to clone commandos during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Because of the enhancement, the commandos, part of the Special Operations Brigade of the Grand Army of the Republic, were able to quickly process the medical substance bacta, allowing them to heal critical injuries in seconds. Incapacitated commandos could be quickly revived in seconds by their squadmates, courtesy of a hand-held jumpstarter unit. Clone troopers were not equipped with such implants, to the disappointment of clone commando RC-1138—known as Boss—when he was separated from his squad during their Mission to the Chaykin cluster.
Behind the scenesEdit
Bacta processing implants were first mentioned in the video game Star Wars: Republic Commando, released for Xbox and PC in 2005. The implants were not shown, and were only mentioned once by Boss when he came across some injured and deceased troopers.
