Banner Sumptor was an Imperial soldier who planned to sabotage the wedding of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade with his compatriots, Chala Venan, Chik Apla, Iry Danta, Anlys Takkar, and Moff Derran Takkar. However, Sumptor doubted the aim of the mission, and instead saved Skywalker's life during a bar room brawl. He was later ordered by Anlys Takkar to kill Mara Jade's dressmaker, Jari'kyn. He realized he couldn't do it and ended up betraying his companions, killing two mercenaries and helping Jari'kyn to defeat Takkar.
