Barefoot Squadron

Barefoot Squadron was a starfighter squadron equipped with T-65 X-wing starfighters that was formed during the Yuuzhan Vong War and led by the young Jedi Knight Tahiri Veila. The squadron were quick to back up their teenage leader and did their best to help her through her relative inexperience. They took their name from Tahiri's habit of walking barefoot.

The squadron flew as part of Admiral Traest Kre'fey's and General Keyan Farlander's task force after the invasion of Coruscant. During the New Republic's hit and fade campaigns, the squadron took part in actions against Yuuzhan Vong weak spots, most notably over the Peace Brigade capital of Ylesia. Then, once the New Republic was ready, they flew in the massive ambush at Ebaq 9, where a significant portion of the Yuuzhan Vong battle fleet was destroyed.
