Barlon Hightower was a Rebel pilot who served as a lieutenant in the Alliance Fleet. He joined the Rebellion to avoid arrest after years of service as a pilot to various guilds for his homeworld of Lantillies. He served as a gunner in Rogue Squadron during the Battle of Hoth, manning the backseat of the snowspeeder designated Rogue Nine.^[1] He was later part of a team assigned to locate Alliance ships or personnel lost following the battle.^[2] Alongside Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker, he explored an abandoned GR-75 medium transport, eventually finding a stranded Wedge Antilles.

Due to the nature of the story that Hightower appears in, his discovery of Wedge Antilles, who had been stranded on Hoth following the battle there, likely didn't happen. Hightower himself, without the specifics of the story, was later referenced in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia
