The Battle of Altyr V was fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Clone trooper captain CT-65/91-6210, nicknamed "Deviss," led the initial Republic assault alongside a Jedi General against the Separatist base on the planet Altyr V; however, the Jedi was killed during the fighting and the Republic advance slowed as a result. Deviss then rallied the remaining companies under his leadership and destroyed the Separatist ion cannon, opening the battlefield to aerial bombardment and winning the battle for the Republic. For his act of bravery and initiative, Clone Commander CC-5052 promoted Deviss to the rank of commander.^[1]
