The Battle of Bpfassh was an attack launched by Grand Admiral Thrawn to lure the New Republic Fleet to Bpfassh. Thrawn hoped that, by luring the fleet to one central area, he could steal the unguarded derelict capital ships located at Sluis Van with mole miners stolen from Lando Calrissian's mining operation on Nkllon.

Thrawn's maneuvers did lure the New Republic towards a dead end, and the Empire attacked the Sluis Van shipyards, after stealing the mole miners. However, this attack was thwarted.
