The Battle of Otoh Sancture happened during the War of the Gungan Tribes that already ravaged the Gungans for years; this event introduced Boss Gallo in the war and decided its outcome.

[edit] The Massacre of Otoh Sancture
While Gallo was tracking through the forest hunting for nerf for the Sacred Feast, the peaceful and defenseless city of Otoh Sancture was raided and destroyed by a pack of wild bursas under the command of the legendary Boss Rogoe. Most of the civilian populace was lost. Upon his return, all Gallo found was a smoldering ruin, and a small army of savage bursas, looking for fresh meat.

Fleeing in horror on his kaadu, Gallo stumbled upon the rogue Captain Marsune's secret hideout. Desperate for supplies, Gallo traded the five nerf he had gathered during his hunt for some worker glurrgs, and set off deeper into the forest.
On his journey, he spotted several Militiagungs with the bursas, and questioned them. He discovered Rogoe's involvement with the bursa strike, and resolved to make him pay. Using his glurrgs, he founded a new town, in memory of those who fell at the Massacre of Otoh Sancture.

After a hard toil, Gallo had raised a modest army, and was prepared to strike back. The bursas had anticipated this, and had tried to destroy his new township, but to no avail. Gallo was ready this time. Leading a force of Militagungs and mounted troops, he marched into the bursa camp, wielding his ceremonial staff, and killed the adult bursas, who were poorly organized in their defense. Gallo, overwhelmed by his anger and desire for revenge, had the bursa huts burned to the ground, killing the bursa women and children.

With the land that Otoh Sancture had once stood on reclaimed, Gallo set his sights on Rogoe. As the dust settled, Boss Gallo found Captain Marsune looking on. He confessed that he could not stand Boss Rogoe either and would join Boss Gallo in his quest to defeat Rogoe. In order to do this, however, all the Gungan tribes would have to be united. The final phase of the War of the Gungan Tribes had begun.
