The Battle of Qat Chrystac was an Imperial offensive led by Grand Admiral Thrawn.

General Garm Bel Iblis led 15 ships to defend the system, but Thrawn, using an Interdictor-class heavy cruiser, quickly brought in additional reinforcements (this maneuver would be later known as the Thrawn Pincer).

General Bel Iblis invented the A-wing Slash during this battle in order to save the Mon Calamari cruiser Orthavan. Despite the maneuver's success, the battle group retreated in order to avoid any more losses.
