The Battle of Smarck was a New Republic raid against Black Sun forces in 11 ABY. Angered over the joint Black Sun-Grappa funded pirate raids on their hyperspace routes during the crisis against the Interim Ruling Council, New Republic commander Mirith Sinn led a raid on Black Sun's forces on Smarck, destroying their Spaarti cloning cylinders there and helping unravel the connection between the criminal forces and the Ruling Council.
