The Battle of Sullust took place in 20.9–20.8 BBY, during the Clone Wars. For a year, Sullust had remained a loyal member of the Galactic Republic, serving as a fortress world along the CIS border. After Sullust seceded, a Republic invasion force launched from Eriadu commanded by Jedi Knight Rees Alrix. The force was composed of numerous local planetary defense forces that had been combined under Brigadier Gideon Tarkin.

The Republic force lost the battle for Sullust due to a traitor in their midst, but succeeded in recapturing part of the Sluis sector.
