The Black Sun organization had taken interest in the space station and deployed both ground and space-based agents in and around the station. The ground-based agents were a team of hackers, who were eventually defeated by agents working for the Car'das. In the space around the station, Black Sun had stationed several starfighters who committed acts of piracy against several traders in the region, among others Dynath miners. A number of operations under the supervision of Serissu, Laetin A'shera, and Aleas Rans'ery against the Black Sun in an effort to stop them from terrorizing the Dynath miners and others were conducted, all of them involving a spacer whose identity remains to be verified—and all of them successful.
Seeing many of their operations thwarted by the Car'das, the Black Sun forces engaged in a direct attack on the space station, sending a wing under the leadership of Talonbane Cobra. Not willing to helplessly watch the attack on the station, the spacer, who was in the station, having returned from a mission against the Black Sun, jumped into a starfighter and joined the Car'das fighters in the battle against the criminal organization—ostentiously disobeying orders from Rans'ery. With the help of the spacer, who shot down Talonbane's starfighter, the Car'das managed to repel the attack. Seizing the oportune moment, Dartas Pytin of the Car'das decided to have his forces strike against the Black Sun in a series of attacks on nearby Black Sun bases of operation. The Car'das wing, still including the spacer, were successful in eliminating large portions of the Black Sun forces in the system. Black Sun commanders Arlem Demonrunner, Chaen, Ondara, and Rilis were all killed during the fighting.
Largely thanks to the heroic deeds of the spacer, the Car'das emerged victorious, having removed the Black Sun threat from the Ord Mantell system for the time being. The spacer was awarded a decoration for the participation in the battle.
