The Battle of Thanos was fought between the forces of the New Republic, under Admiral Ackbar, and Warlord Treuten Teradoc's Greater Maldrood at Thanos in 8.5 ABY. After the death of the warlord Zsinj in the Battle of Dathomir, Teradoc, Ackbar, and Admiral Teren Rogriss of the Galactic Empire moved into Zsinj's former territory to capture what they could. Ackbar defeated Teradoc soundly at Thanos, ultimately leading to the collapse of Teradoc's warlord ambitions in the Mid Rim.
