The First Battle of Yag'Dhul occurred in 5 ABY and was the first engagement between the New Republic and Warlord Sander Delvardus.[1]
Delvardus tried to expand his territory and was able to claim the Rimma Trade Route from Eriadu to Yag'Dhul.[1] The New Republic, however, chose to stop Delvardus' ambitions for the Core World and sent a fleet from the Moorja system, liberated the previous year. The New Republic was victorious and Delvardus was forced to abandon the Rimma Trade Route and retreat in the Outer Rim.[1]
