The Battle of the Deep Core took place in 18 ABY, and led to the destruction of the Imperial resistance in the Deep Core. At the same time as the Imperial Remnant under Gilad Pellaeon was seeking to expand into the Inner Rim at the Battle of Champala, the replacement warlords under Daala were attempting to break out of the Deep Core.

However, they were not able to stay unified, and Garm Bel Iblis led the New Republic Fourth Fleet in a series of perimeter campaigns that pushed back their territory. At the final battle, Bel Iblis tried to use a pair of CC-7700 frigates (equipped with gravity well projectors) to capture Daala onboard her command ship, Scylla. However, Daala had the Scylla ram the forward CC-7700, destroying it and allowing her to escape into hyperspace. Although Daala escaped, the New Republic won the battle, and Daala wasn't heard from again for at least twenty years.
