Bear Clan

The Bear Clan was one of the many clans that prospective young Jedi were placed in when they first began to learn the ways of the Jedi Order. The Clan was trained by Grand Master Yoda and Master Depa Billaba, and consisted of such bright students as J.K. Burtola, Mari Amithest and Liam.

Young Jedi were typically assigned to a clan between the ages of four and eight years. Each clan consisted of about twenty hopeful Jedi and could include individuals belonging to various different species. Since the lessons taught to these younglings were relatively simple, it was not uncommon for as many as ten different clans to be trained together at the same time. The lessons taught to the younglings during this time period formed the basis of skills that were later refined and expanded upon as Padawan learners, under the watchful eyes of their respective masters.

By the time of the Great Jedi Purge, many, if not all, of the Bear Clan had probably become Padawans to Jedi Knights. It is therefore not known whether or not they were present at the Jedi Temple when Order 66 was given.
