A male Twi'lek from the species' homeworld of Ryloth, Beezer Fortuna was a member of the Fortuna clan, a powerful Twi'lek family with close connections to the criminal underworld of the galaxy. He stood out from other Twi'leks by his dried-out lekku and his comparatively small pupils. He was also the cousin of Bib Fortuna, who worked on the remote desert world Tatooine as Major of the Huttish Crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Already in his youth, Beezer was considered to be highly political and was regarded the most active of of every member of his entire clan.
During the Clone Wars, Fortuna was among many of Ryloth's inhabitants that witnessed the Separatist Alliance occupying the planet. it wouldn't be long when the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order arrived later to successfully liberate the planet group with the aid of the Twi'lek freedom fighters under the leadership of Cham Syndulla. Beezer Fortuna saw in the rebellion of the freedom fighters against the separatist regime, and Cham Syndulla's contribution to the liberation of Ryloth was an inspiring example that shaped him for his further life. He despised the rest of his family because of their relationship to the Galactic Underworld.
After the Clone Wars came to an end and the Republic was reorganized into the Galactic Empire, Beezer would witness the Imperial occupation on his home planet and view the increasing oppression of his people by the occupying forces of the Free Ryloth movement, a resistance faction that was opposed to the repressions of the Empire's wrath. However, when the resistance group was revealed in a raid of the empire, Beezer subsequently became imperial captivity. When troops of Saw Gerrera's cell attacked a camp where Fortuna was interned, the Twi'lek was freed again and joined the rebel group of the extremist. He rose to one of the confidants of the rebel leader and became one of his chief strategists within the rebel cell. His main task was to monitor and strategically evaluate local and galaxy-wide activities of confederate and hostile elements to in order to make it more easy for Gerrera and his troops during his private war against the empire.
In the year 0 BBY, Beezer stayed in a camp of the Partisans in the catacombs of Cadera near Jedha City on the desert moon of Jedha. In the wake of an attack between the Partisans and Imperial forces on in Jedha City, Cassian Jeron Andor, an agent of the Rebel Alliance, and his allies Jyn Erso, Baze Malbus and Chirrut Îmwe were captured by Gerrera's cell after Andor had killed one of his Partisans. On their arrival in the catacombs, Beezer Fortuna was in a conversation with another member in a Dejarik table at the base. Just when the Empire tested its superlaser of the Death Star on Jedha City and destroyed it miles away from the Partisan camp, the high energy jet caused a shock wave of debris and fire.

Behind the scenesEdit
Beezer Fortuna draws inspiration from early pre-production maquette sculpts for Bib Fortuna. The character's production nickname was "Cousin Bib," so Pablo Hidalgo integrated that detail into his backstory when writing Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide. His name arises from early draft scripts from Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, which referred to Bib Fortuna as "High Beezer of Hoth."
