Bela Kiwiiks was a female Togruta Jedi Master serving the Jedi Order as a member of the Jedi High Council during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire.

BiographyEdit

A Force-sensitive Togruta, Bela Kiwiiks was trained in the ways of the Force by the Jedi Order three centuries after the end of the Jedi Civil War. When the Sith Empire returned from the their centuries-long exile, Kiwiiks was a Jedi Knight studying as a Consular. As the Great Galactic War erupted, Jedi Kiwiiks took up arms against the Sith, seeing action on fronts across the galaxy. During the war, Kiwiiks fought alongside fellow Jedi Satele Shan, Syo Bakarn and Jaric Kaedan at the battle at Rhen Var. A reflective thinker, she strategized over poems instead of battle grids, though was a capable fighter.^[1]

Following the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant between the Sith and the Republic, the Jedi Order retreated from Coruscant and took up residence on their ancestral homeworld, Tython. As a prolonged Cold War took its toll on the galaxy, Kiwiiks was made a Jedi Master and earned a seat on the High Council. Despite her duties on the Council, Master Kiwiiks elected to train the young Kira Carsen as her Padawan, though at the time she was unaware of the girl's past within Imperial-controlled space.^[2]

During her mission to Tatooine, Master Kiwiiks was trapped by the Shock Drum and kept alive only by merging with the Force. However by the time she was rescued by the Hero of Tython and her onetime Padawan, Kira Carsen, much of her strength had diminished to the point where she would no longer accept taking missions and returned to the Jedi Temple on Tython.

Master Kiwiiks would oversee the journey of the Hero of Tython along with Grand Master Satele Shan and was present during the initial briefings of the Jedi Strike team led by Master Tol Braga as well as during the Jedi's final stand against the Empire on Corellia. However, in her weakened state, she had trouble defending herself against a few low ranking Sith Lords and would've likely been killed were it not for the Supreme Commander of the Jedi Forces, the Hero of Tython himself, and Kira Carsen, now a full Jedi Knight, stepping in to save her at the last minute. In light of this revelation, Master Kiwiiks consented to aiding and healing the wounded and the innocent in getting to safety. The Hero of Tython agreed that she would do the Jedi forces a better service to assisting rather than fighting.
