Ben Kenobi's hut
From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.
Ben Kenobi's hut was the residence of Ben Kenobi, alias of Obi-Wan Kenobi, from 19 BBY to 0 BBY.
It was located at the southwestern edge of Tatooine's Dune Sea, approximately 136 kilometers from the Lars homestead,[1] at standard coordinates Alpha-1733-Mu-9033 of the first quadrant in the Tatooine navigation system. Made out of synstone, it was a large room that was divided into a bathroom, a living room, and a raised kitchen. A cellar contained a power generator and water, and could be entered via a trapdoor. Many of its comforts that were not present in the original dwelling, probably constructed by a transient that had looked to become a moisture farmer or trade with the Jawas but eventually abandoned it, were added by Obi-Wan during his twenty-year stay.
Obi-Wan discovered the abandoned dwelling when he began his exile on the desert planet. After riding his eopie in a widening circle around the Lars homestead, he found a small hut close enough to the Lars farm so he could watch over Luke Skywalker, but far enough away so he could be considered a hermit and nobody would take much note of him.
He kept books containing information about the Jedi there, as well as the supplies and equipment needed to create new lightsabers. Following his escape from Cloud City, Luke Skywalker lived there for several weeks, doing just that.
Following the end of the Galactic Civil War, Obi-Wan's hut was made into an attraction of the Skywalker Tour, having been rediscovered and restored by Myhr. In 9 ABY, after Leia Organa Solo allowed the Force to draw her to the hut, she found it ransacked; void of everything save for Kenobi's workbench and a mysterious datapad in the cellar. In 12 ABY, Luke Skywalker returned to the hut in an unsuccessful attempt to reestablish a connection with his long-dead mentor. When he arrived, the hut was in nearly the same state as his sister had found it, save for the fact that the roof had caved in.

[edit] Behind the scenes
In the A New Hope novelization, Ben Kenobi's home was located in a cave rather than the hut seen in the movie.
The original movie was filmed in an old harbor in south Tunisia. Long ago the harbor moved 3 kilometers south, forming the town Ajim. The house is still used as a meeting place, and therefore is regularly renovated. For the 1997 Special Edition of the film, the shot has been replaced with a combination model / digital matte painting of a larger hut.
