Berason was a world that was blockaded by the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Utilizing Defender ion mines to punish the planet for its political opposition to the New Order, the Empire impeded its economy of low-tech mining exports and imported food and medicine. General Airen Cracken sent out Rebel agents in vacuum suits to disarm the mines, thus allowing Rebel ships to break the blockade.
