Black Ice was the centrepiece of the Imperial Navy replenishment fleet DK-209.

Black Ice was an enormous Field Secured Container Vessel, a cargo vessel roughly stretching the length of five Imperial I-class Star Destroyers, that consisted of nine vast force-field spheres connected in a single line between its bow and stern tugs.

The vessel could haul just shy of one billion metric tons of starship fuel cells, over a year's worth of fuel for a full Imperial battle fleet.

During the Galactic Civil War, Black Ice was captured by the Rebel Alliance at Refrax within Mortex Sector, but she was later destroyed when she was rammed into an Imperial Torpedo Sphere at Fangol.
