- "Every planet has a black market of some kind."
- ―Bazine Netal
A black market was an illegal means of dealing goods and services, outside of the eyes of the government. Despite the best efforts of law enforcement agencies and clone interdiction forces, black markets prospered throughout the Clone Wars-era Galactic Republic. To counter the appeal of black markets, the government issued propaganda pieces stating that helping oneself in that way was helping the enemy, and hurting the war effort.[1]
During the Clone Wars, Almec established a black market on Mandalore to provide needed goods after the planet was cut off from Galactic Republic aid.[2]
After her previous lightsabers were stolen by Padawan Barriss Offee, Asajj Ventress acquired a replacement on the black market.[3]
Ezra Bridger once stole several items from the TIE/ln space superiority starfighter of Baron Valen Rudor to sell on Lothal's black market.[4]
Delphi Kloda taught his pupils that every planet had a black market if one knew where to look.[5]
