The Blackguard were formed by Vulta Daanat, a former member of the Brotherhood of Darkness.[1] They set up a base on the planet Mustafar, near the Southern Jedi Ruins at the Smoking Forest. There were four ranks of Blackguard: Minion, Elite Minion, Wilder, and Elite Wilder.
In 1 ABY, archaeologist Mi Fon Lu asked a group of adventurers to take care of the Blackguard. The group managed to wipe out all of the Blackguard, allowing Mi Fon Lu access to the ruins.

The Blackguard sought to increase their knowledge and power by searching for secrets held by other Force traditions around the galaxy.[1]
