Blade of Dorin was a Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor used by Jedi General Plo Koon's during the Clone Wars in service to the Galactic Republic. It was named after the planet that the Kel Dor Jedi Master was from, Dorin.

CharacteristicsEdit

The Blade of Dorin was the name of Jedi Master Plo Koon's Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor.^[1] Named after Dorin, Koon's home planet, the starfighter was customized similarly to Anakin's Azure Angel, with blue and white markings to camouflage it against a blue sky. Koon's astromech droid, R7-D4, could fit in a droid socket located just forward of the cockpit of the starfighter.^[2]

HistoryEdit

Malevolence crisisEdit

The Blade of Dorin was gifted to Jedi Master Plo Koon by Anakin Skywalker at some point during the Malevolence crisis, after Koon lost his Venator-class Star Destroyer during the Battle of Abregado against the Malevolence.^[3] Koon and R7-D4 flew the Blade of Dorin through the Kaliida Nebula to outpace the Malevolence to the Kaliida Shoals Medical Center.^[4]

First Battle of FeluciaEdit

He later used the starfighter during a battle at Felucia. Ordering his wingman, clone pilot Warthog, to protect the gunships, General Koon initiated an attack run on the approaching Vulture droid starfighters, clearing the way for the rest of the ships. Though the fighters made it past the blockade, they were pursued by a pair of droid starfighters into the atmosphere of Felucia. Warthog came under fire from the two Vulture droids, and Koon adjusted his course to assist the pilot.

Battle of KadavoEdit

Koon piloted the star fighter during the Battle of Kadavo leading a squadron of Clone Z-95 starfighter's. Koon attempted to take out the turrets preventing the cruiser from landing but they were ray shielded. Two Zygerrian starfighters were pursuing Koon and two other fighters, unable to shake them off Koon's astromech cut the engines and spun backwards until he was behind them and shot them down.

Behind the scenesEdit

A toy of the Plo Koon's Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor was released as a part of Hasbro's 2010 toy line in August.

LEGO made a "Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter" set, numbered 8093, that was released in July 2010.

The supplementary information on Cartoon Network's Clone Wars site, however, was the first published reference of the actual name of the vessel, identifying it as the Blade of Dorin.^[1]
