The Blood Boiler was a device that made use of genetically engineered poison and developed by Doctor Drugindi during the Cold War. This weapon was being developed by the Sith Empire which introdued the poison within the veins of a target that led to their blood turning into acid, making it an incredibly painful experience for any victim.

In this era, it was nearing the point where it was able to be mass-produced, though still required a live fire testing. Thus, Doctor Drugindi tasked a Sith official with testing the weapon on the Killiks of Alderaan.
