When someone was admitted to Rav's crew, he had him/her scribed with the mark of the Bloody Bones and had them say his oath. Cade Skywalker and Jariah Syn were among the many who had to swear fealty to Rav. By 137 ABY, when they came to pick up the Grinning Liar, Cade forced Rav to swear the oath to him, but then Rav traitorously swore it to Darth Maladi afterward.
