The Blue Swirl was a region of the Kathol Rift dominated by relatively calm activity and possessing a few lifeless planetoids. Nearby the Blue Swirl resided the constellation of the Horns of Waryl, a trio of stars that formed an inverse pyramid when viewed from the red planet of Yvara.
