Boba Fett: Bounty on Bar-Kooda is the first issue in the Boba Fett series of one-shot comic books. It was written by John Wagner and illustrated by Cam Kennedy. It was released on December 5, 1995 by Dark Horse Comics.

Publisher's summary[]

He is the one man who delivered Han Solo to both Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt. Across the galaxy, the most-wanted criminals shudder at the mere mention of his name… Boba Fett!

Following the events of Star Wars: Dark Empire II, a Hutt's misguided affections lead to a death contract on a faraway planet. Hired by the Hutt, Boba Fett pursues an intergalactic magician who may hold the key to the Hutt's future. The fact that the magician has died only poses a slight problem for the bounty hunter, as not even the dead can escape from Boba Fett!

Continuity[]

Although the publisher's summary for Boba Fett: Bounty on Bar-Kooda, as well as the article "Pulp Faction" in the sixth issue of the Star Wars Galaxy Magazine both indicate that the events of the comic issue take place after those of Star Wars: Dark Empire II,[2] The New Essential Guide to Characters[3] and the ninety-seventh issue of The Official Star Wars Fact File both imply that they, in fact, occurred before the events of that series.[4] Star Wars: The Comics Companion, which generally organizes the comic stories described within in in-universe chronological order, places Bounty on Bar-Kooda, dated to "ten years after A New Hope," after Dark Empire II ("ten years after A New Hope") but also between the Star Wars: Empire's End and Crimson Empire series (both "eleven years after A New Hope").[5]
