Bog People were groups of outcasts that lived in the swamps of Nal Hutta. Their numbers consisted of those that crossed the line even in a criminal society, lose everything and had no place to go or those that outraged their Hutt employers. These individuals were thus exiled into the Hutta Swamps where most died quickly though some managed to survive. It was from these survivors did communities form who learn to endure in the swamps-respirators to cut down on toxic gas inhalation, medicinal compounds to counteract absorbed chemicals and made use of specially treated clothes to alter their sense as well as made use of blasters for self defense..^[1]

Ultimately, however, they were unable to stop the changes that came to a life living amongst poisons. They begin to suffer from paranoia, delusions and hallucinations with the locals refering to them as "bog people". The Bog People were for the most part not organized but tended to form packs while seeking out new exiles in order to teach them their way of surviving on Nal Hutta. Encounters with them were invariably violent and these outcasts targeted anyone of any species in the hopes of obtaining more supplies.^[1]
