A Bombard Squadron was an Imperial Navy squadron that consisted to two Torpedo Spheres, a skirmish line of warships, and a line of pursuit ships, totaling up to twenty-eight vessels in all. These types of squadrons were used against rebellious worlds that had a strong military presence. Instead of conducting a prolonged assault on the ground, Bombard Squadrons would lay siege to the planet, pound away at its defenses and achieve a victory more quickly.
