[edit] The battle
In 3 BBY, Imperial forces under the command of Darth Vader attacked Callos, after discovering evidence that the Callosians were developing a new offensive technology intended to oppose those who were spreading the New Order. Black Eight Squadron, Vader's personal fighter wing, was assigned to bomb the Callosian defenses. Once the military objective had been neutralized, Captain Juno Eclipse was ordered to continue the assault. Upon questioning this directive, Vader changed the mission to the targeting of a single reactor unit, the Callos planetary reactor. Juno Eclipse followed these orders and proved her loyalty to Vader. Despite obvious misgivings about obeying her orders, she continued her assault on the already beaten and defenseless planet, leading to the genocide and, for all intents and purposes, destruction of the planet.
[edit] Aftermath
Although Eclipse had demonstrated her loyalty, Vader judged that she lacked the ruthlessness that he deemed vital to the command of Black Eight Squadron, and Juno was reassigned to pilot the Rogue Shadow. She later remarked that the planet Felucia reminded her of Callos.
