«Compassionate leaders will burn!»
―The bomber — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

During the Clone Wars, the Death Watch bombed the New Mandalorian Memorial Shrine in the heart of Mandalore's capital city, Sundari.[1]

The bombing[]

The bomb was set off by a member of the Death Watch terrorist organization while Duchess Satine Kryze and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi strolled through the gardens at Peace Park on Sundari, Mandalore. Many people were injured in the blast.[1]

The Death Watch bomber left a hologram displaying the terrorist group's symbol in the explosion's wake. Master Kenobi and the Mandalorian Protectors escorted Duchess Satine away from the carnage. Kenobi then ordered everyone present to be questioned by security forces. At that time, the bomber ran off to flee, before being cornered by the Jedi at a balcony. The terrorist fired on Kenobi with a blaster pistol until the Jedi Master disarmed him. Rather than being arrested and imprisoned, the bomber jumped off the balcony to commit suicide.[1]

Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the events of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode "Landing at Point Rain" to 21 BBY, and Helmet Collection logo small Star Wars Helmet Collection 76 (Highlights of the Saga: The End of Endurance) dates the death of Ponds, as seen in the episode "Lethal Trackdown," to the same year. Since StarWars Star Wars: The Clone Wars Chronological Episode Order on StarWars.com (backup link) places "The Mandalore Plot" between "Landing at Point Rain" and "Lethal Trackdown", its events must also take place in 21 BBY.
