Bone gnashers were subterranean spiders from Tatooine. In 1 ABY, a spacer was sent by Tori to kill bone gnashers in the Krayt Cult Cave, and bring back six poison glands.

In the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies, prior to it's closure on December 15, 2011, most of the gigantic spider creatures were defined as being an Angler. Yet the name is often misleading, because creatures such as the bone gnashers are defined as an Angler, despite being on Tatooine, where fishing for prey is virtually impossible.
