A male rancor was owned by Karagga the Hutt prior to the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Bred from a long line of competitive battle rancors, the rancor was the champion of the battle pit at Karagga's Palace on the planet Nal Hutta, and sired a child named Bonethrasher. However, Bonethrasher slew his father in combat at only seven months old and went on to be the undisputed champion of Karagga's pit until he himself was killed[2] in 3640 BBY.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Bonethrasher's father was first mentioned in the Codex entry for Bonethrasher in the 2011 video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[2] The Codex entry was added to the game in 2012 as part of Game Update 1.1.[3]

Notes and references[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 Both the base game of Star Wars: The Old Republic and the Battle of Ilum take place in 3640 BBY per the reasoning here. Since the "Hutt Hospitality" Operation takes place sometime after the battle but is part of the base game, the Operation's events must occur in 3640 BBY. As Star Wars: The Old Republic — Codex: "Bonethrasher" is acquired upon killing Bonethrasher during the Operation, and the Codex entry mentions Bonethrasher's father's death on Nal Hutta, and Bonethrasher is fully grown during the events of the Operation, the father's death must have occurred well before 3640 BBY.
