"Do not wait for opportunity to strike. Steal it instead!"
―From the Book of Hondo[src]

The Book of Hondo was a book attributed to Hondo Ohnaka,[1] a Weequay pirate active during the Clone Wars and Age of the Empire.[2] The book contained at least one quote, which advised "stealing" an opportunity rather than waiting for one.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Book of Hondo was first mentioned in the epigraph of "The Crimson Corsair and the Lost Treasure of Count Dooku,"[1] a short story written by Landry Q. Walker and published by Disney–Lucasfilm Press as an eBook on November 30, 2015 under the Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens publishing label.[3] On April 5, 2016,[4] the short story was republished in the book Tales from a Galaxy Far, Far Away: Aliens: Volume I, although the epigraph which mentioned the Book of Hondo was not included.[5]
