This article is about the Imperial Security Bureau officer. You may be looking for Jeems, a factory foreman.

Bozeden Jeems was a human Imperial Security Bureau officer who served as Inspector General and oversaw the protection of the data vault in the Imperial Center of Military Research on the planet Scarif. His role made him aware of many of the Galactic Empire's secrets.

Jeems's ambitions of becoming Deputy Director were dashed in 1 BBY when a group of rebels managed to steal the plans to the Death Star superweapon from the vault, after which the entire facility was destroyed by the Death Star's superlaser.

Biography[]

Bozeden Jeems was a human officer of the Imperial Security Bureau[1] and so was aware of many of the Galactic Empire's closely guarded secrets.[2] An up-and-coming Inspector General based in the Imperial Center of Military Research on the planet Scarif, Jeems was responsible for defending the secrets of the weapons development carried out by Imperial Intelligence.[1] This included overseeing the protection of the data vault on Scarif[3] which contained the plans to the Death Star superweapon.[1]

Citadel data vault

Jeems failed to protect the Scarif data vault.

Jeems hoped to achieve the position of Deputy Director, but these ambitions dissipated when a group of rebels infiltrated the vault on Scarif[1] in 1 BBY.[4] Jeems fiercely scrambled forces in response,[2] but the efforts were in vain,[1] as the rebels succeeded in stealing the Death Star plans and transmitting them to the Alliance fleet. The Imperial Center of Military Research was then destroyed by the superlaser of the superweapon itself.[5]

Personality and traits[]

When deploying troops after the breaching of the data vault on Scarif, Jeems was more concerned with salvaging his career than recovering the valuable military data. He had light skin, brown hair, and blue eyes.[1]

Equipment[]

Jeems wore an Imperial officer's uniform that made him look every bit a soldier who had been promised a great career in the Imperial Era.[2] His white tunic bore a code cylinder on each breast and a rank insignia plaque showing three red pips and then one blue. His black Imperial kepi had an officer's disk as did the silver buckle of his black belt, on which two silver storage cases hung above his black pants.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Beamish-Jeems

Jamie Beamish portrayed Bozeden Jeems.

"The iconic villain that was too evil for the final cut. Ladies, gentlemen, Droids and Wookies, I give you… Inspector General Bozeden Jeems"
―Jamie Beamish[6]

Bozeden Jeems was created for[1] the 2016 Anthology Series film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,[5] in which he was to be portrayed by actor Jamie Beamish; however, his scenes did not make the final cut.[6] The character was instead first mentioned in the film's accompanying reference book Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
