Bravo Squad was a squad of clone commandos trained on the watery world of Kamino to serve in the Grand Army of the Republic. Comprised of four clones of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett, Bravo Squad fought in the opening battle of the Clone Wars on the Outer Rim planet of Geonosis. There, they sustained heavy casualties and one of the four commandos—a soldier known as Ram—survived the battle to be redeployed to Corusant days later. There, Ram took part in a stand-off at Arca Company Barracks when the six Null-class Advanced Recon Commandos took it over; the stand-off came to an end after an agreement was reached between Jedi General Iri Camas and the former Cuy'val Dar sergeant, Kal Skirata, who had trained the Null ARCs and was able to talk them into ending the hostilities.
History
Edit
The soldiers of Bravo Squad were born on the aquatic world of Kamino,[1] located in the region of the galaxy known as Wild Space.[2] Raised and trained by a member of the Cuy'val Dar to serve in the Grand Army of the Republic, the squad was comprised of four clones of the Mandalorian bounty hunter named Jango Fett. After nearly ten years of intense training, Bravo Squad was finally deployed to the arid desert world of Geonosis in the Outer Rim, along with the rest of the Galactic Republic's Grand Army. There, the squad took heavy casualties in the resulting battle against the battle droid army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Five days later, Ram—the Bravo Squad's only surviving member—was redeployed on Coruscant, where the six Null-class Advanced Recon Commandos had taken over the barracks of Arca Company. There, he and four squads of Republic commandos took part in a stand-off with the Null ARCs under the command of Jedi General Iri Camas, a stand-off that was neutralized by the timely intervention of former Cuy'val Dar training sergeant, Kal Skirata, who was able to talk the Nulls into ending the stand-off peacefully.[1]
Equipment
Edit
Bravo Squad, like all of their fellow Republic commando squads, was equipped with Katarn-class commando armor which they decorated in colors and unique paint schemes of their own choosing. In addition, the squad was issued the blaster standard to all clone commandos, the DC-17m Interchangeable Weapon System, which could be configured as a common blaster rifle, sniper rifle, or grenade launcher with the use of varied attachments.[1]

Behind the scenes
Edit
Bravo Squad was first mentioned in the 2006 novel, Republic Commando: Triple Zero, the second entry in the Republic and Imperial Commando novel series by author Karen Traviss. The only member of Bravo Squad to physically appear in the story was Ram, the squad's only survivor in the wake of the Battle of Geonosis, seen most notably in the second of the Star Wars prequel trilogy films, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
