Bridge 242 was a bridge on the planet of New Plympto which crossed a large chasm near the town of Rhigar.

HistoryEdit

During the Clone Wars the planet of New Plympto was drawn into the conflict due to the fact the native Nosaurians allied with the Confederacy of Independent Systems against the Galactic Republic which caused the Grand Army of the Republic to invade. During this conflict the town of Rhigar was evacuated and the bridge became one of several supply lines used by the Separatist Droid Army. A shield generator was installed to defend it against Republic attacks and a squad of battle droids including B1 battle droids and B2 super battle droids were stationed on it. The Republic then gave the bridge it's numerical designation and attempted to destroy or capture bridge 242 several times unsuccessfully with both ground attacks and aerial bombardment which did however flatten the deserted buildings of Rhigar. A group of spacers were then hired by the Republic to infiltrate the bridge's shield and destroy the shield generator to allow for a large convoy of clone trooper to attack it. Whether the spacers were successful or not is unknown.

Behind the scenesEdit

Bridge 242 was created by Daniel Wallace, Gary Astleford, Eric Cagle and Rodney Thompson as the main objective for players in a short Saga edition Roleplaying game adventure which shared it's name with the bridge. The bridge's ultimate fate depends on whether the players manage to successfully destroy the shield generator in which case it is captured by Republic forces, otherwise the Republic is forced to destroy it by orbital bombardment.
