Brock Peters (July 2, 1927 – August 23, 2005) portrayed the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars radio adaptations.
Born George Fisher in New York, Peters set out for a career in show business at an early age. His film career began in 1954, with a role in the film Carmen Jones. As a film actor, his best-known roles were Tom Robinson in To Kill a Mockingbird and Admiral Cartwright in the Star Trek feature films Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Perhaps his most memorable television role was Joseph Sisko, the father of Benjamin Sisko on Star Trek:Deep Space Nine. In addition to his role as Darth Vader, he lent his distinctive voice to many characters as a voice actor.
Brock Peters died of pancreatic cancer at his home in Los Angeles on August 23, 2005.
