A brood pouch was where most Huttlets stayed for the first fifty years of their life, emerging with the mental development about that of a 10-year old Human. Unlike most huttlets, Rotta did not stay in his father's brood pouch. Jabba preferred his offspring to directly experience the galaxy first-hand, such a thing being almost unheard of in modern Hutt society.
