Brotherhood of Cognizance

The Brotherhood of Cognizance was a secular organization of the Naboo religion during the last few centuries of the Galactic Republic. They resided in a mountain sanctuary, and were made up of approximately twenty brothers. Maxiron Agolerga, the order's Pontifex, performed the secret wedding of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala. They used to celebrate rites in holy purple garments.
The Brotherhood of Cognizance was founded many centuries before the Clone Wars, and was even said to be as ancient as the colonization of the planet Naboo. There seems to have been many brothers at the time, but their number grew smaller and smaller through the centuries, until they were considered as an arcane order and mostly forgotten.
They seemed to differ from the traditional Naboo religion though, as they did not worship any gods or goddesses- which did not mean they did not believe in them. They were a contemplative order, worshipping art in all its forms, such as poetry, music, paintings and aesthetics.
