A bruwose was a large lizard native to Moorja. The lizards were effectively blind, using sound, heat and smell to navigate. They had large fore-paw talons, which they used to sift through soft rock while hunting small prey. They had pale skin, which provided little protection in fights.
Six months after the Battle of Endor, Dirk Harkness and the Black Curs landed on Moorja after their reconnisiance of the Core Worlds. Harkness was trapped by three bruwoses in the Crumbling Lands while on his way to his hidden Y-wing. He was rescued by New Republic agents shortly after.
