The CMC-22 mining facility was a mining facility designed by Corellia Mining Corporation, who sold it to anyone who wished to purchase one, in exchange for a share of the profits. Both the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire used this almost entirely automated facility to mine raw materials.
