In 22 BBY,[2] CT-00-2010, nicknamed "Droidbait," was one of the many clones of Mandalorianbounty hunterJango Fett.[4] During training exercises with Domino Squad as a clone cadet, Droidbait would ultimately end up following CT-782, despite the warnings of Echo. During the squad's final exam, he was shot and split his shoulder. CT-4040 was the only one to stop and help him, and the squad failed for leaving a man behind.[1]
Once he was put in the medical bay on a gurney, the Arconanbounty hunterEl-Les tended to his wound. As he did so, Droidbait said he felt like it was his fault his team failed, and that he felt like he was always acting as "droid bait." El-Les said that it was not his fault, and that Jedi MasterShaak Ti would let him and the rest of his squad redo the final exam the next day.[5]
Droidbait and his fellow squad members passed the cadet final exam on the next try by succeeding without their ascension cables. Droidbait played a key role by drawing turret fire away from his squad.[1]
Knowing that the clones at Rishi Station would detect the attack, Grievous deployed several commando droids to capture the Rishi listening post. Inside the station, O'Niner lost contact with deck officerCT-327, who was patrolling outside the listening post. Unaware that the commando droids had killed CT-327, O'Niner ordered Droidbait and Nub to find the missing trooper. However, after the two clones opened the listening post's blast door entrance, the commando droids revealed themselves and attacked Droidbait and Nub, killing them.[6] The commando droids gained control of the facility, although the surviving members of Domino Squad retook the base with the help of Clone CommanderCody and Clone CaptainRex.[3]
"Droidbait" first appeared in "Rookies," the fifth episode of the first season of the the Clone Wars TV series. He also appeared in the first episode of the third season, titled "Clone Cadets," which chronologically took place before "Rookies." In the episodes, he was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who voices most of the clone troopers through the series.[6]
Droidbait received the clone designation number "CT-00-2010" in the accompanying episode guide for "Clone Cadets" on StarWars.com, which was published in September 2010. However, Droidbait later received the designation "CT-28-631" in the short novel Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Defenders of the Republic, released on October 7, 2010.
The code "DROIDBAIT" can be acquired at the end of the game "Clone sharpshooter" on StarWars.com if the player reaches a certain high score. If the player then enters the code in the game "LiveFire," which can also be played on starwars.com, the player becomes a commander, upgrading their blaster shot and grenade toss accuracy from 15 out of 100% to 80 out of 100%. The player will also be followed by four clone troopers in the game, who help the player but die much more easily.
