The Cairn Installation was an Imperial Remnant installation that was affiliated with the Empire Reborn. It was located inside Cairn, an asteroid within the Lenico Belt.

Carved out of the rock of the stable asteroid, the base housed the cortosis-processing facilities of Galak Fyyar's forces, specifically his shadowtroopers. The factory was also responsible for turning out the numerous dropships, stocked with stormtroopers and AT-STs, which Fyyar planned to launch against the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4.
In 12 ABY, Kyle Katarn and Luke Skywalker infiltrated the facility during the search for Desann. Katarn traveled through the hangars and the enormous Reactor core, also he battled various Reborn Dark Jedi. Later, Katarn managed to sneak aboard the Doomgiver just as it was leaving, sabotaging its systems as it was en route to its intended target.
