Cal was a Human male, who had been the Jedi Padawan of Master Tyffix and a Jedi Commander during the Clone Wars.

During the Battle of Thustra, Tyffix was killed when the Galactic Republic command center was hit by an incoming bomb. Cal accompanied Master Yoda to the planet's capital in an attempt to negotiate peace with King Alaric, but the two Jedi were held captive in the king's palace. While Yoda talked with Alaric, Cal tried to escape, and was shot from behind by a Sephi warrior. As he died, cradled in the arms of a mournful Yoda, Cal blamed Yoda for all that had happened on Thustra.
Cal used a green lightsaber.
